Day 1 – Departure from Philippines to Istanbul, Turkey
Day 2 - Arrival in Istanbul / St Sophia / Blue Mosque / Hippodrome
Welcome to Turkey, the crossroads between East and West! Our representative will meet you at Istanbul airport. Our journey begins in Istanbul, the only city in the world situated on two continents. Byzantium, Constantinople, Istanbul - its three names span more than 2600 years, nearly 1600 of them as the capital of two of the greatest empires the world has known, Byzantine and Ottoman. We visit the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Hippodrome, where chariot races and the Byzantine riots took place. Visit Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar): The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. Check in to your hotel, dinner, and rest.
Day 3 – Full day Istanbul tour
Today’s visits begin with Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, with 61 covered streets and over 3,000 shops! Later, transfer to the port for a cruise on the Bosporus. A traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, marble palaces, fortresses, and small fishing villages. Return to your hotel, dinner, and rest.
Day 4 – Flight to Kayseri / Gerome Valley / Kaymakli
Take the early flight to Kayseri airport for our adventure in the unique valleys of Cappadocia. We will visit Goreme Valley with its churches and monasteries from early Christian times. Please be reminded that everything in Cappadocia was and now in the caves. We will also visit the fantastic underground city of Kaymakli. Overnight at a special category Cave Hotel in Cappadocia, dinner, and rest.
Day 5 – Hot Air Balloon / Fairy Chimneys / Valley of the Sword / Camel Valley / Underground Pottery
Rise and shine for a lifetime experience this morning. We will get up before sunrise to see the sun coming up as we stroll through Amazing valleys of Cappadocia on our Hot Air Balloon adventure. Then after breakfast we will continue on exploring the unique valleys of Cappadocia such as Fairy Chimneys, Valley of the Swords and Camel Valley. Today we will also visit underground pottery Workshops; a tradition which was adopted from Hittites almost 4000 years ago. We will also visit local handicrafts centre to see the oldest living tradition in Turkey.
Day 6 – Flight to Izmir
Catch our flight to Izmir. As you arrive in Izmir, you will be meet by your tour guide and led you to your hotel. You may rest or walk around to explore the area. Dinner at your hotel and rest.
Day 7 – Pergamon / Thyatira / Smyrna
Leave early in the morning to start your Seven Churches tour which were mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Visit Pergamon with its acropolis and Great Theatre, the steepest of the ancient world. Revelation 2:12-16 describes the city as "where Satan's seat is", a reference to the altar of Zeus, where we pause for reflection on the fulfillment of Scripture. Nearby, visit the Red Basilica; once a pagan temple, it later converted into a Christian church. Drive onto Thyatira, once a busy trading center and famous in dyeing of purple clothes. Thyatira is one of the Seven Churches mentioned in Revelations tolerated the false prophetess, Jezebel (Rev. 1: 11; 2: 18-29). After our short visit there, we will drive back to the Ancient City of Smyrna; poor and persecuted, the church at Smyrna suffered amidst prosperity for its refusal to worship the Roman Emperor. This proved to be the last stronghold of Christianity in Asia Minor. It is the home of the great second century Bishop Polycarp who was burned alive at the age of eighty-six. It was one the 2 churches which was not warned in the revelation due to their strong faith in Christ. We will visit the State Agora, the acropolis and the old town of Izmir. Return to your hotel, dinner and overnight in İzmir.
Day 8 – Sardis / Philadelphia
Travel to Sardis, another of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Jesus told Sardis, "I know thy works, that thou hast a name, that thou livest, and art dead"(Rev. 3: 1-6). Coins were minted and the dyeing of wool originated in Sardis. You will be impressed by the massive scale of the Temple of Artemis, by the white marble Royal Road, by the gymnasium, and by the synagogue. Visit the site of Philadelphia also one of the Seven Churches of Revelation (Rev. 3: 7-13). Christ told those who overcame that He would write upon them "the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem." (Rev.3: 12) Today, not much is left to mark the spot. You will see an ancient wall and the remains of a Byzantine Basilica. Overnight in Hierapolis (Pamukkale). That night guests can enjoy the hot spring pools at the hotel.
Day 9 – Hierapolis / Pamukkale / Laodicea / Ephesus
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the visit of Hierapolis; an ancient city of pagan cults, Hierapolis or "holy city" was evangelized by Paul and Epaphras. The Apostle Philip lived and is said to be buried here. Pamukkale, or "cotton castle" is a spa and resort center with its hot springs and cascading limestone pools. Col. 4:12-13. Hierapolis - The Christians of Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches, (Rev. 3: 14-22) were chastised for being lukewarm, "You are neither cold nor hot" (Rev. 3: 15), and for being too comfortable incorporating pagan and Christian beliefs. In the famous scripture from Revelation (3: 20-21), Jesus says to the Laodicean church: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock...” Today, there are many acres of ruins to see, including the stadium and columned streets and a chance to witness the newest excavations in Laodicea. Ephesus is one of the Seven Churches of Revelation (Rev. 1: 11). In ancient days, Ephesus was a bustling port town of 250,000, graced with wide, colonnade bordered streets. The St. Paul's first visit to Ephesus was brief - during his second missionary tour (Acts 18:19-21). His second visit lasted about three years - during his third missionary tour (Acts 19:1 to 20:31). Luke's account of the worship of Diana appears in Acts 19:34-35. The Great Theatre (stadium) mentioned in Acts 19:29-31 could seat 25,000 people. Walk the marble-paved street with grooves made by chariot wheels. See the Fountain of Trajan, the Library of Celsus, and the Great Theatre with a capacity of 24.000 spectators. Guests will also enjoy shopping opportunities at the Leather outlets and carpet weaving farms. Overnight in Kusadasi
